August 30, 2011 – Crosby & Higgins LLP Files Action in the Southern District of New York Against New York-Based Technology Corporation for Copyright Infringement
August 30, 2011
Crosby & Higgins LLP together with Grauberger, Green & Associates, PLLC, recently filed a complaint in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of eight successful sound-recording copyright holders, against a New York-based subscription music service corporation and the corporation’s former and current Chief Executive Officers. The complaint alleges illegal copyright infringement conducted through the Defendant’s digital subscription service, which allows end-users to stream and download Plaintiffs’ music without Plaintiffs’ permission. Plaintiffs seek an injunction against Defendants to prevent further infringement, as well as monetary damages in the amount of either Plaintiffs’ actual damages and Defendants’ profits from their infringing acts, or statutory damages pursuant to the Copyright Act. The case is currently pending before the Honorable District Judge Gardephe and Magistrate Judge Peck.
