Intellectual Property FAQ |
|
Intellectual property is property that results from original, creative thought, such as the expression of ideas, discoveries, inventions, and artistic and literary works. Some examples of intellectual property include music, creative writing, web-site content and design, trade secrets, product invention, and scientific discoveries. Intellectual property laws allow people to claim ownership over an invention, creation, or idea the way they might claim ownership over physical property.
Intellectual property is typically protected by patents, trademarks, trade secrets, or by coypyright.
