March 15, 2009 -- Crosby & Higgins LLP Successfully Resolves Copyright Infringement Action on Behalf Of New York Artist
Crosby & Higgins LLP has successfully resolved a copyright infringement claim alleged against a major U.S. publishing company, on behalf of its client, a prominent New York based artist. At issue in the dispute was the client’s original painting, which was featured on the cover of a well-known national magazine without the client’s permission or appropriate attribution. After private pre-litigation settlement negotiations, the matter has been amicably settled between the parties, the terms of which are confidential.
